Women's Tennis Secures Narrow 4-3 Road Win Over GSW

Lady Panthers' tennis improves to 6-3 overall

AMERICUS – The Lady Panthers tennis team picked up their second non-conference win of the season this afternoon as they took down the Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes 4-3 on Friday afternoon in Americus.

DOUBLES PLAY

The Hurricanes took the doubles point after their pairings in the number one and two spots took down the duo of Jonay Brittain and Gabrielle Dooling, followed by Alexa Turnbough and Joiya Middlebrooks dropping their doubles matches. Mia Lynn Parker and Julian Williams earned a win in the number three doubles spot after securing a 7-5 win.

SINGLES PLAY

Singles play was the deciding factor for the Lady Panthers after Brittain and Dooling fell short in the first two singles spots. Clark Atlanta won the remaining four singles matches to escape with the road win. Mia Lynn Parker won her match 7-5, 6-0, followed by Syanne Tyson with a 6-2, 6-1 win, Janae Troupe with a 6-1, 6-1 victory, and Julian Williams earning a 6-0, 6-0 win to secure the narrow 4-3 win.
