Lady Panthers' Tennis Opens the Season 1-0 with Win Over Brenau

Box Score GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- The Clark Atlanta women's tennis team took the trip to Gainesville to take on Brenau University and returned victorious. The Lady Panthers took down the Tigers, 4-3, in their season opener to start the year 1-0.

DOUBLES PLAY

The Lady Panthers swept doubles play, starting with a 6-1 win from the duo of Jonay Brittain and Gabrielle Dooling in the number one spot followed by a 6-3 victory from Joiya Middlebrooks and Syanne Tyson. In the number three doubles spot, Mia Parker and Julian Williams pushed to a 6-3 win to secure the doubles point for Clark Atlanta.

SINGLES PLAY

Jonay Brittain picked up where she left off as she won her singles match 6-6, 4-2. Gabrielle Dooling fell short in her match 5-4, 7-6 in the number two singles spot. Syanne Tyson gained another point for the Lady Panthers as she found victory 6-6, 3-2 in singles number three. Julian Williams secured the third singles win of the day for Clark Atlanta as she downed her opponent 6-6, 3-0.

Clark Atlanta returns to action on Friday, February 20 as they hit the road to take on Georgia College & State University at 2:30 p.m.
