Clark Atlanta remains in control of SIAC East

ATLANTA — The Lady Panthers erased a 15-point halftime deficit to complete a comeback and win their ninth straight game, defeating Allen 68-53 in their final home game of the 2024-25 season.

Trinity Jones added 15 points and five rebounds, hitting two 3-pointers in the win. Sophomore Atreonia Garner chipped in 14 points and eight rebounds.

The Yellow Jackets took control early, grabbing an 18-11 lead after the first quarter as Clark Atlanta shot just 37% from the field and went 1-of-2 from the free-throw line. Allen extended its lead to as many as 18 points, 39-21, with 1:40 left in the first half. Despite Garner's 10 first-half points, the Lady Panthers trailed 39-24 at halftime.

The Lady Panthers found new life in the final frame, shooting 47% from the field and 50% (2-for-4) from beyond the arc. Denise Stine cut the margin to single digits with a layup under seven minutes to play, then followed it up with a steal that set up Myori Pruitt for a fast-break layup, trimming the deficit to seven.

Brooklyn McKinley electrified the crowd with a four-point play, giving Clark Atlanta its first lead of the second half at 54-53 with 4:29 remaining. The Lady Panthers continued to stifle the Yellow Jackets defensively and closed the game on a 9-5 run to complete the comeback.
Turnovers proved costly for Allen, which committed 24, leading to 25 points for Clark Atlanta. The Lady Panthers also won the battle in the paint 34-22, despite being outrebounded 43-36.

Clark Atlanta shot 37% from both the field and 3-point range and 56% from the free-throw line. Allen finished shooting 40% from the field, 20% from deep, and 86% from the line. The Lady Panthers' bench added 11 points, matching their fast-break output in the victory.
