Panthers Down Savannah State, 70-66, to Close Out 2024-25 Home Slate

Jalen Williams scores a game-high 19 points in the win

ATLANTA, Ga. – Jalen Williams and Shemani Fuller posted a game-high 19 points each on the way to Clark Atlanta's 70-66 victory over Savannah State to close out the 2024-25 home slate on Monday night inside L.S. Epps Gymnasium. The Panthers improved to 17-8 overall with the win and continue to sit atop the SIAC East with a 14-4 record in conference play. 

Jalen Williams and Shemani Fuller led the way for Clark Atlanta, each scoring a game-high 19 points. Williams shot 6-of-11 from the field, knocking down three three-pointers and grabbing eight rebounds. Fuller added nine boards of his own and was dominant inside, contributing a pair of blocks. Ny'Mire Little chipped in 18 points, connecting on five three-pointers.

The game was a back-and-forth battle, with seven lead changes and three ties. Savannah State jumped out to a 34-32 lead at halftime, fueled by strong performances from Jeremiah Barze and Qua King, who each finished with 13 points. Michael Swift and Javonte Lundy added 10 points apiece for the Tigers.

Clark Atlanta found their rhythm in the second half, outscoring Savannah State 38-32 behind efficient shooting and strong defensive rebounding. The Panthers shot 44% (11-of-25) from three-point range and held a 36-29 advantage on the glass.
Despite a late push from Savannah State, Clark Atlanta's defense held firm, forcing key stops in the final minutes. The Panthers converted crucial free throws down the stretch to seal the win.

UP NEXT

The Panthers return to action on Saturday, Feb. 22 as they take the short trip over to Forbes Arena to face cross-campus rival Morehouse College. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m.
