Clark Atlanta Battles Hard in Doubleheader at Home

ATLANTA, Ga. — October 7, 2025 — Clark Atlanta University volleyball showed grit and determination in a home doubleheader Tuesday at Epps Gymnasium, facing off against Middle Georgia State University and Shorter University.

In the first match, the Lady Panthers fell 3–0 (16–25, 22–25, 11–25) to Middle Georgia State. Despite the loss, Clark Atlanta displayed flashes of strong play throughout the second set, closing the gap with aggressive serving and defensive effort. Sophomore Christen Maloney led the offense with six kills, while Kendall Cook and Kennedi Quarles added six and three kills, respectively. Setter Jadyn Harris dished out 11 assists and served up an ace, while Alyx Foster anchored the back row with 12 digs.

The evening match up against Shorter University saw the Lady Panthers once again give their all, even with a limited roster. Clark Atlanta fought hard in every set, but Shorter took the 3–0 victory (25–19, 25–21, 25–11). Maloney and Morgan Williams led the team with six kills apiece, while Harris turned in another strong performance with 14 assists and an ace. Foster again paced the defense with 13 digs, and Cook chipped in four kills and solid blocking at the net. Our players left everything on the court even with limited numbers, they competed with heart and represented Clark Atlanta with pride.

The Lady Panthers (1–15, 1–5 SIAC) will look to bounce back as they continue conference play later this week against Kentucky State and Central State on October 10th.
