Seven Lady Panthers Medal at Inaugural SIAC Fall Tennis Bash

SOUTH FULTON, Ga. – The Clark Atlanta Panthers women's tennis team excelled this past weekend at the inaugural SIAC Fall Bash at the South Fulton Tennis Center.

"Adversity revealed our resilience and growth this weekend — we battled, we believed, and we brought home 8 medals as a program," said head coach Daisha Reed.

The pairing of Jonay Britain and Gabrielle Dooling won their opening day doubles match over Edward Waters 8-4 to advance to play Albany State on day two. The duo took down ASU 8-3, earning themselves a 2nd-place finish in Doubles Flight S.

In Flight U, Clark Atlanta's duo of Kennedy Talbert and Mia Parker-Garcia won 2nd place after victories over Spring Hill 8-5 and Tuskegee 8-6.

In singles play, Syanne Tyson garnered a 2nd-place finish in Flight C after a win over Tuskegee's Nyla Harris 6-0, 6-1 on day one, followed by a loss to Spring Hill before bouncing back for a default win over Benedict. Mia Parker-Garcia finished in third place in Flight E with a day-one win over Tuskegee's Gabrielle Blanks 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 and a default win on day three.

In Singles Flight F, the Lady Panthers' Janae Troupe took second place while Julian Williams won third place.

"Proud of the progress, the fight, and the foundation we're building — the Spring season can't come soon enough," noted Coach Reed.
