Lady Panthers Shine in 35-Point Victory Over Fort Valley

Clark Atlanta improves to 15-5 overall (8-3 SIAC)

ATLANTA, Ga. The Clark Atlanta Lady Panthers cruised to their 15th win of the season with a commanding 81-46 victory over Fort Valley State on Greek Night at L.S. Epps Gymnasium. With the win, Clark Atlanta improved to 15-5 overall and 8-3 in SIAC play.

Atreonia Garner led the Lady Panthers with a team-high 13 points, adding two rebounds and two steals in the victory.

The opening quarter was fast-paced, with both teams finding early offensive rhythm. Clark Atlanta, however, took control by pushing the tempo and scoring on breakaway layups to jump out to an 8-3 lead by the six-minute mark. Fort Valley State responded with a quiet comeback, cutting the lead to five. But CAU's aggressive defense—featuring steals, double teams, and deflections—fueled their momentum, giving the Lady Panthers a 20-16 lead after one quarter.

The second quarter belonged to Clark Atlanta. Denise Stine opened the period with an and-one, followed by two forced 10-second violations on defense. The Lady Panthers' intensity continued with a block and a steal, setting up another and-one for Garner as CAU stretched its lead to 27-16. Feeding off the crowd's energy, Clark Atlanta outscored Fort Valley 23-11 in the quarter, taking a commanding 43-27 lead into halftime.

After the break, Clark Atlanta maintained its relentless energy. Their lockdown defense and poised offense helped extend the lead further.
The final quarter began with some back-and-forth play, but both teams struggled to score early. Joirdyn Smith broke the drought for CAU, hitting a three-pointer to put the Lady Panthers back on track. She followed with two more consecutive threes, sealing the victory with two minutes remaining.

Clark Atlanta delivered a dominant performance across all four quarters, finishing with a decisive 81-46 victory.

Garner led the way with 13 points, two steals, and two rebounds. Trinity Jones added 12 points and two assists while going 6-for-6 from the free-throw line. Faith Bland contributed 11 points, two steals, two assists, and two rebounds. Smith, a key player in the fourth quarter, scored above her season average with nine points.
