Lady Panthers Tennis Advances To SIAC Championship Match After Downing Albany State 4-2

CAU Tennis Reaches First Championship Match Since 2019

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. – Clark Atlanta women's tennis opened the 2024 SIAC Tournament with a commanding 4-2 win over Albany State on Saturday afternoon at the Peachtree City Tennis Center. With the win, Clark Atlanta advances to their first championship match since the 2018-19 season when they won the title. 

DOUBLES PLAY

The Lady Panthers secured the doubles point behind a 6-4 win by the duo of Gabrielle Blanks and Madison Moffatt over ASU's pairing of Jonay Brittain and Natalya Ogunwale on court one. Clark Atlanta's Shani Idlette and Jumai Muhammed locked up the doubles win for the Panthers as they downed the duo of Allyah Williams and Bianca Leao.

SINGLES PLAY

Jumai Muhammed secured a crucial singles point on court one for CAU as she won 6-1, 6-1 over Natalya Ogunwale. Shani Idlette continued to add to the score for the Lady Panthers after notching a 6-4, 7-5 win over Carla Sorroche on court four. Lastly, Madison Moffatt got a pivotal 6-4, 6-1 win on court five to power the Lady Panthers to a 4-2 win, advancing them to the championship game to face Tuskegee University tomorrow (Apr. 21) at 9 a.m. at the Peachtree City Tennis Center.
