Panthers Edge Past Edward Waters 75-74

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Clark Atlanta men's basketball team (12-3, 6-3 SIAC) downed Edward Waters (7-10, 6-4 SIAC) 75-74 on Saturday afternoon in the Sunshine State. Clark Atlanta improves to 12-3 (6-3 SIAC) with then win.

Kharye Cayne scored a team-high 16 points and 12 rebounds to notch his second double-double performance of the season. Chris Martin chipped in 15 points and four rebounds while Elijah Stewart added 11 points and three assists. 

Both teams traded scored pretty evenly in the first half with no team holding more than six-point lead. Eight Panthers scored in the opening half but CAU held a narrow 34-33 lead over EWU heading into the locker room. Chris Martin sunk a pair of free throws with a minute left in regulation to put the Panthers up by three points (75-72). Edward Waters answered with a pair of free throws of their own but the scoring effort wasn't enough as Clark Atlanta edged EWU 75-74.

Clark Atlanta returns to action on Monday, January 22 at Savannah State. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
