Volleyball Suffers First Conference Loss to Albany State

Volleyball Falls to Albany State at Home

ATLANTA, GA. – The Clark Atlanta womens volleyball team fought hard against conference rival Albany State but eventually fell short 3-1 to the Golden Rams on Tuesday night (Sept. 12) inside Epps Gymnasium.

The Lady Panthers took the first set from the Lady Rams 26-24 to set the tone early with a 1-0 advantage headed into set two. 

The Golden Rams took the final three sets to escape with a 3-1 victory over Clark Atlanta. 

As a team, Clark Atlanta registered an attack percentage of .046. Miara Bolden (Homewood, Ill.) led the Lady Panthers in kills with a season-high seven on the night. Allanah Drayton-Campbell (Duncanville, Texas) posted 12 assists followed by fellow setter Sanaa Simmons (Tallahassee, Fla.) with 10 assists. Defensively, Nakayla James (Altamonte Springs, Fla.) logged 14 digs in the libero spot for CAU. 

UPCOMING SCHEDULE

Clark Atlanta womens volleyball will hit the road for the Talladega Tri-Match hosted by Talladega College on Thursday, September 14. The Lady Panthers are slated to face Wiley College at 4 p.m. and Talladega College at 6 p.m.
