Lopez and Hill Earn SIAC Weekly Softball Honors

ATLANTA, Ga. | The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its weekly softball honors. Clark Atlanta junior Sierra Lopez was named player of the week while sophomore Jayla Hill was selected as pitcher of the week for their outstanding performances this past weekend in against Savannah State.

Sierra Lopez went a combined 5-for-6 at-bat across two games this past weekend. The Douglasville native went a perfect 3-for-3 in game one with a triple and a stolen base to add. In game two, Sierra went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a triple to help push CAU to two wins.

Jayla Hill pitched all seven innings in a 6-5 walk-off win over Savannah State in game two.

NEXT UP

The Lady Panthers Softball team heads down to Albany, Georgia this weekend to take on the Golden Rams in a conference series starting Friday, March 31, with a doubleheader slated for a 2 p.m.
