Panthers Fall to 6-2 on the Season with Loss to Tuskegee

Panthers fall on a last second three-pointer

TUSKEGEE, Ala. -- Shemani Fuller registered his first double-double performance with his 18 points and 12 rebounds but the Clark Atlanta Panthers suffered their second-straight loss after falling to Tuskegee 71-70 on Monday evening. Chris Martin went a perfect 16-for-16 at the free throw line to lead all scorers with a game-high 27 points on the night.

Chris Martin sunk a three-pointer early in Monday's contest to give Clark Atlanta a 7-3 lead just over two minutes into the game. Tuskegee would respond with a 13-2 capped off by a made three to put Clark Atlanta behind 16-9 at the 12:39 mark in the first half.

The Panthers responded with a ferocious 15-0 run of their own to retake the lead at 24-16 with 8:18 left to play in the half. However, the Golden Tigers held Clark Atlanta to just four points down the stretch as they took a 34-28 advantage heading into the locker room.

Clark Atlanta played from behind for most of the second half before Chris Martin sunk a pair of free throws to put the Panthers back in front 47-46 with 11:41 left to play in regulation. Both teams traded scores evenly until a pair of free throws from Shemani Fuller knotted the game at 68-all at the 1:07 mark in the second half.

Tuskegee knocked down a go-ahead three-pointer to take a 71-68 with 30 seconds left to play. Shemani Fuller was able to throw down a putback slam but the Panthers weren't able comeback as they fell to Tuskegee by a narrow 71-70 margin.
