Volleyball Cruises to 2-0 Day in Conference Play

Lady Panthers take down Allen and Benedict

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Clark Atlanta University women's volleyball team (12-7, 9-3 SIAC) picked up a pair of crucial conference wins on Saturday afternoon, downing Allen University 3-0 and Benedict College 3-2 to improve to 9-3 in SIAC-play this season. 

Shynique McGee (Atlanta, Ga.) combined for 32 kills across the two winning matches to lead the Lady Panthers offensive charge. McGee also garnered an attacking percentage of .524. 

Clark Atlanta swept Allen University 3-0 with set scores of 25-21, 25-14, 25-11 to start Saturday's doubleheader 1-0. 

Nakayla James (Altamonte Springs, Fla.) and Miara Bolden (Homewood, Ill.) collected eight digs on the defensive side for Clark Atlanta.  

GAME 2 VS. BENEDICT

The Lady Panthers ended the day with a 3-2 deciding set win over Benedict College to improve to 9-3 in conference play.

Shynique McGee logged her 10th straight game with double-figure kills, spiking 24 kills and 11 digs.

Halle Mitchell (Denton, Texas) also posted a double-figure performance with 14 kills to rank second in attacking percentage against Benedict (.310). Miara Bolden registered a double-double stat line with 10 kills and 13 digs. 

Dahlia Williams (Fairburn, Ga.) rejected a game-high seven blocks.

Clark Atlanta looks to continue their momentum in conference play as they head to Fort Valley, Georgia to face the Wildcats of Fort Valley State on Wednesday, October 11, at 6 p.m.
