McGee Tallies Season-High 24 Kills, Volleyball's Three-Game Streak Snapped

Lady Panthers fall to Golden Rams

ALBANY, Ga. – Shynique McGee (Atlanta, Ga.) tallied a season-high 24 kills, and her eighth-straight match with 11 or more kills but Albany State (11-10, 11-1 SIAC) outlasted Clark Atlanta (10-7, 7-3 SIAC) 3-1 on Tuesday night inside the HPER Complex.

Allanah Drayton-Campbell (Duncanville, Texas) amassed a season-high in assists, setting 30 helpers on the evening.

Albany State downed Clark Atlanta in set one 27-25 to take an early 1-0 lead over the Lady Panthers. Clark Atlanta responded by escaping set two with a 34-32 victory to even the match score at one apiece. The Golden Rams ultimately took down the Lady Panthers 25-18 and 25-17 to secure a 3-1 conference win on their home floor.

McGee led the way with a season-high 24 kills, 13 digs, and an attacking percentage of .467 on the night.

Miara Bolden (Homewood, Ill.) logged her first 10-kill match of the season for the Lady Panthers.

On the defensive end, Nakayla James (Altamonte Springs, Fla.) led Clark Atlanta in digs with 16 total.

Clark Atlanta women's volleyball welcomes Harris-Stowe State, Allen University, and Benedict College this weekend for the 2023 Pink Classic and High School/Middle School Day. Clark Atlanta will face Harris-Stowe at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 6, and at 10 a.m. on Saturday (Oct. 7). Following the HSSU matches CAU will take on Allen University at 1 p.m. and Benedict College at 4 p.m.
