COLUMBIA, S.C. – Dez'Mond Perkins and Ja'Kobe Strozier each had a game-high 15 points leading Clark Atlanta to a 67-61 win over Allen in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) game.
Clark Atlanta improves to 3-12 overall and 2-7 in the SIAC while Allen drops to 1-13 overall and 1-8 conference play.
Strozier was 4 of 6 from 3-point range to finish with the season-high 15 points while Jalen Williams added 12 points and Demetrius Headspeth added 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds in the win.
The Panthers were 23 of 53 from the field (43.4 percent) and connected on 6 of 14 from behind the arc.
Allen would score the first seven points of the game, but Clark would finally pull even 13-13 with 9:20 left in the opening half.
Clark Atlanta used a 9-0 run to open up a 23-15 lead with 4:58 left in the half. The Yellowjackets closed the half on a 7-1 run to tie the game 29-29.
Allen would once again score the first seven points of the half to take a 36-39 lead in the opening minutes of the second half.
The Panthers would use a 13-2 spurt to regain the lead 48-46 with 9:35 left. Neither team led by more than three until Clark scored seven straight for a 61-54 lead with 2:58 left to put the game away.
Clark Atlanta is back in action on Saturday at home against Edward Waters in an SIAC game at 4:00.
