ATLANTA, Ga. – Kentucky State used a 7-0 second half run to hold off Clark Atlanta 62-52 in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) game.
Kentucky State improves to 7-3 overall and 6-1 in conference play while the Panthers drop to 2-11 overall and 1-6 in the SIAC.
Jalen Williams had a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds while Gwarren Douglas was also in double figures with 10 points. Justin Longstreet had a team-high four assists.
Clark Atlanta was 18 of 65 from the field (27.7 percent) and connected on 5 of 18 from 3-point range.
The game was tied 31-31 at halftime.
Kentucky State led 38-36 before running off seven straight to push the lead to 45-36 with 12:11 left. Clark would get no closer than seven the rest of the way.
The Panthers are back in action on Saturday at 4:00 at Benedict College.
