Clark Atlanta was able to break a 4 game losing streak as the swept the Pain College Lady Lions, September 21 in Epps Gymnasium
It's the first home court victory of the year for Clark Atlanta (3-10, 1-3 SIAC) and their first since the sweep against Agnes Scott Wednesday, the first set was dominated by the Lady Panthers ending 25-16. The Lady Panthers charged out to an early 5-0 lead and maintained a lead of seven plus points the entire set. Paine attempted to lessen the gap with five back-to-back points. Ultimately,
Makayla Murphy was able to close out the game with a kill to secure the victory.
The Panthers came out slow the second set down 0-2 due to errors. The Panthers regained the lead, but the game remained close. The Panthers began leading the set scoring back-to-back points off Pain errors and kills making the score 21-12; the largest lead of the game. The Lady Panthers were able to end the game 25-13 after a Paine hitting error.
In the final set, Paine started the lead 15-10, despite two kills by
Shynique McGee. The Lady Panthers began to close the gap 19-18 with another kill by [7], then followed by block by [17&5]. Stakes ran high as the game became 23-23 with a powerful kill by
Makenzie Austin. The crowd was really riled up as the Lady Panthers were trying to close out the set. After an error made by the Lady Lions, Clark Atlanta was able to secure the win!

Shynique McGee led the Lady Panthers with 12 kills and 9 digs. Freshman defensive specialist,
Trenity Pender, led the defense with 12 digs. Freshmen setter,
Sanaa Simmons hit a season high with 28 assists and 4 aces.
Makayla Murphy assisted in the offensive drive with 7 kills followed by
Jalen Dickerson with 5 kills.
The Lady Panthers now get ready for this weekend's big SIAC Crossover Tournament in Cartersville, Ga. CAU takes on Lane and Lemoyne-Owen on Friday. They will open Saturday play against reigning SIAC Champions, Spring Hill, and finish the weekend against Tuskegee and Miles.
