Evans Tallies First Double Double of Season Against Tuskegee

ATLANTA,GA--Corriana Evans secured her first double -double of the season Monday night here in Epps Gymnasium, but that was not enough to secure the win. The Lady Panthers fell short as the Tuskegee Tigers dominated the court, 83-47, Monday night in L.S. Epps Gymnasium. 
 
Following their first conference win against Spring Hill College, the Lady Panthers (2-6, SIAC 1-2) had a slow start beginning the game. The Tigers Nadia Thorman-Mckey stormed the court scoring five of their eight points within the first five minutes of the game. The panthers still looking for their rhythm was finally able to get on the board with a jumper from Brea Patterson with 3:17 left in the first quarter. Now with a 14-point lead, the Tigers finish the quarter leading 18-4 against the panthers 
 
The Tigers continued to run the score up over the Panthers who could not maintain the possession of the ball. Tuskegee's Jutoreyia Willis scored seven point this quarter, along with Ashiala Jackon with seven point and Arielle McElroy with four. The Panthers scored 14 points in the half. Asha Ross had four points with two rebounds, Evans three points with six rebounds and and Trinity Jones two points. Tuskegee entered the locker room at halftime up 40-14. 
 
The Panthers began to fight back in the third quarter with a fast break to a layup by Evan, assisted by Deyanna McKinney. Evans then put up five more points with help from Hannah White who also scored six points, ending the quarter 32-64 trailing the Tigers. White continued to fight at the top of the fourth quarter with a jumper and two good free throws in the first three minutes. But it was still no match against these Lady Tigers. 
 
Tuskegee led the lady panthers 30-14 in points off turnovers and 44-20 in points in the paint; with a field goal percentage of 41.3%. Evans led the Lady Panther with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Followed by Hannah White with 11 points, four rebounds, and two assists. 
 
The Lady Panther will continue conference play as they travel to Memphis, Tennessee to take on the Lane College Dragons Thursday, December 15th at 5:30 pm.
