FAIRFIELD, Ala. -- Lmeyiah Harris had a game-high 29 points leading Miles to a 67-61 win over Clark Atlanta in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) opener.
Corriana Evans and Trinity Jones each had 13 points to lead the Panthers while Janiah Ellis was also in double figures with 11 points. Asha Ross had a team-high seven rebounds while Hannah White led the team with five assists.
The Panthers shot 40 percent from the field (19-53) and made 5 of 16 from behind the arc in the game. Miles was 20 of 61 (30.8 percent) and hit 7 of 25 from 3-point range.
Clark Atlanta scored the first eight points of the game and led 14-12 after one and led 25-24 at the half.
The Panthers scored the first five of the second half for a 30-24 lead before Miles used a 14-3 run to open up a 38-33 lead with three minutes left in the third quarter. Miles led 42-36 after three.
Miles led by as many as 15 at 62-47 with 2:22 left before Clark Atlanta used an 11-2 run to trim the deficit to 64-58 with 33 seconds left.
Clark Atlanta is now 1-4 overall and 0-1 in the conference. The Panthers are back in action on Nov. 30 when they host Clayton State at 6:00.
