ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – Hannah White and Corriana Evans each had a game-high 15 points, but the Panthers fourth quarter rally fell short in a 56-52 loss at Elizabeth City.
Clark trailed 27-20 at halftime and 50-35 after three before outscoring the Vikings 17-6 in the fourth quarter.
Janiah Ellis was also in double figures with 12 points for the Panthers, who are now 1-1 on the season.
Evans and Ellis led the way with eight rebounds each.
The Panthers were 13 of 55 (23.6 percent) from the floor and hit 3 of 22 from 3-point range while Elizabeth City was 14 of 59 (23.7 percent) from the field and made 6 of 29 from downtown.
The Vikings used a 7-0 run to start the second quarter after the game was tied 10-10 after one and they took a 27-20 lead to the half.
Elizabeth City took a 50-35 lead into the fourth and Clark held the Vikings without a field goal in the final quarter, making just six free throws.
Hannah White's layup with 40 seconds left cut the deficit to 55-50 closing a 15-5 run.
The Panthers are back in action on Nov. 19th at the University of West Georgia at noon.
