UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Tate Keleaf led five Virginia Union players in double figures with 17 points in a 79-61 win over Clark Atlanta at the Chris Paul HBCU Tournament at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Jalen Williams led three Panthers in double figures with 18 points while Justin Longstreet added 16 and Gwarren Douglas finished with 13 for the Panthers. Longstreet also had a team-high five assists.
Demetrius Headspeth led Clark with nine rebounds while Douglas added seven.
The Panthers shot 44 percent from the field (22-50) while connecting on 5 of 19 (26.3 percent) from 3-point range.
Virginia Union was 32 of 68 from the floor (47.1 percent) and made 10 of 20 from behind the arc.
Clark led 23-14 with 8:43 left in the opening half before Virginia Union used a 17-6 run to take a 31-29 lead with 4:18 left in the half. Virginia Union led 35-31 at the half.
Virginia Union scored the first six of the second half to open up a 41-31 lead in the opening two minutes. They led by as many as 26 at 66-40 with 9:38 left.
