The Clark Atlanta University tennis team's match at Georgia College on Saturday, March 20 has been canceled.
It comes a week after the Lady Panthers lost a close 4-3 match with Shorter University on March 13 at the CAU Tennis Courts.
In that match, the Lady Panthers were opening their season after the 2020 campaign was cut short due to concerns over the Covid-19 pandemic.
In doubles action against Shorter, Kenyon Thompson and junior
Shani Idlette pulled out a 6-4 victory, while the teams of
Nicola Ramdyhan and
Saran Lloyd and
Madison Moffatt and
Miyanda Wynn lost 6-1 and 6-0.
In singles play, Thompson got the Lady Panthers only win with a 6-3, 6-2 victory. Ramdyhan lost her match 6-4, 6-1; Idlette fell 6-4, 6-0; Moffatt lost 6-0, 6-0; and
Shereese Henry fell 7-6, 6-0.
The Lady Panthers will be back on the court next week when the host a Mini Round-Up of Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schools Friday, March 25 and Saturday, March 27. Participating will be CAU, Spring Hill, Albany State and Savannah State.
