Reagan Jackson and
Corriana Evans combined for 48 points, but it wasn't enough as Clark Atlanta fell to Lane 75-67 on Monday in Jackson, Tenn.
The Lady Panthers (2-9, 2-0 SIAC) had erased a double-digit, third-quarter lead when Evans hit a 3-pointer with 7:48 remaining to tie the game at 49-48 with 7:41 remaining in the game. Thirty-nine seconds later, Evans hit two free throws that gave CAU a 50-49 lead.
Lane (5-3, 1-1 SIAC) then outscored CAU 13-4 over the next three minutes to push their lead back up to nine points, culminated by Kayla Simmons' layup with 3:57 remaining.  The Dragons maintained their lead down the stretch to get the victory.
The Lady Panthers outrebounded Lane 54-47 but was outscored 32-22 in the paint by Lane. Â Clark Atlanta shot 28.5 percent from the floor.
Jackson finished with 28 points, four rebounds and two assists, while Evans had 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting and grabbled 10 rebounds. She also had two assists, two steals and a block.
Denise Stine finished with seven points and five rebounds, while
Alexis Mann and
Kaia Barnett each had five boards.
Simmons led four Lane players who scored in double figures. Simmons had 15 points and 20 rebounds.
Clark Atlanta returns to L.S. Epps Gymnasium for two games to end the fall semester. Thursday, they host Tuskegee at 6 p.m. and Spring Hill on Saturday at 2 p.m.
