The Clark Atlanta University Panthers are on the road, but not far down the road, as they head to Atlanta's southside to take on Clayton State University tonight at 6 p.m. in the Clayton State Classic in Morrow, Ga.

The Panthers (1-2) are coming off a 75-65 loss against Winston-Salem State in their home opener. But Clark Atlanta split two games last week in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference/Gulf South Conference Challenge, defeating the nation's 10
th ranked Division II team, Valdosta State.
In three games, senior
Justin Longstreet leads the Panthers in scoring with 20 points per game, mainly on the strength of his 40-point explosion against Valdosta State.
Jalen Williams has scored 17 points per game while
Chris Martin has averaged 15 points per game and just over nine rebounds a game.
They face a Clayton State Lakers (1-2) program that CAU hasn't played since 2014. CAU holds a 3-2 edge in the all-time series between the two schools, though Clayton State has won the past two meetings.
The Lakers fell to Valdosta State on the road Tuesday in their most recent game and is led by junior 6'10" center Jalen Shaw's 16.3 points, seven rebounds, 3.3 assists, two steals and 1.3 blocks per game, topping the team in each category. Forward Ricardo Lynch averages 16 points per game and shoots nearly 43 percent from the 3-point line.
Saturday, the Panthers are back on the floor in the two-day Clayton State Classic when they take on Georgia College at 2 p.m.
