The Clark Atlanta Lady Panthers tennis team blanked Tuskegee 7-0 Saturday, continuing a streak of 15 consecutive Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference wins.
The Lady Panthers (2-0, 1-0 SIAC), the defending SIAC champions, haven't lost an SIAC match since they fell to Benedict in the 2018 SIAC Championships. Their last regular season loss was also to Benedict in March 2018. Last season, the Lady Panthers were undefeated in conference play with a 14-0 record.
Saturday, Clark Atlanta opened with three doubles wins.
Vanessa Eusebio and
Alexis Fletcher won their match 6-3, while
Akilah Parker and
Shani Idlette won their match 6-1.
Nicola Ramdyhan and
Miyanda Wynn also were victorious, winning 6-1.
Singles were just as successful for the Lady Panthers as CAU didn't drop any sets Saturday. Fletcher won her match 6-0, 6-0, as did Eusebio. Ramdyhan won 6-2, 6-2, while Parker won 6-3, 6-0. Idlette was a 6-3, 6-3 winner, while
Saran Lloyd won her match 6-3, 6-1.
The victory over Tuskegee continues another long streak – Clark Atlanta hasn't lost to Tuskegee since April 2016.
The Lady Panthers return to CAU Tennis Courts when they host the University of West Georgia on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m.
