CAU’s Tim Bowens to Work With Falcons as Part of NFL’s Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship

Clark Atlanta University head football coach Tim Bowens will be working in a National Football League camp next week.

Bowens was selected as a participant in the NFL's 2019 Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship, an initiative that has tutored nearly 2,000 minority coaches since its inception in 1987.  Named after late Pro Football Hall of Fame head coach Bill Walsh – who developed the idea – the program exposes talented minority college and high school coaches, along with former NFL players, to the methods and philosophies of NFL coaching staffs.

Walsh hosted the first group in 1987 when he brought a group of minority coaches into his San Francisco 49ers training camp.

Bowens, in his first year at CAU, will work with wide receivers when the Atlanta Falcons hold  their mini-camp Monday through Thursday at team headquarters in Flowery Branch, Ga.

His Panthers kick off the 2019 season on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. when they host Livingston College at CAU Panther Stadium.
