Box Score Jason Howell had two hits while
Calvin Butler drove in two runs, but the Clark Atlanta University Panthers baseball team came up short in an out-of-conference game at Georgia College, losing 10-3.
CAU (9-20) erased a 6-0 deficit in the seventh inning when Butler doubled to left field, driving in
Jordan Johnson and
Ayrton Gijsbertha. Demoni Bradley then reached on a throwing error, which allowed Butler to score as the Panthers closed the gap to 6-3.
But Georgia College (21-14) added a run in the seventh and three more in the eighth to secure the win.
Johnson pitched seven innings for CAU, striking out four. Deandre Swift, Gijsbertha also had hits for the Panthers.
CAU now returns home on Saturday when they host Claflin University at 4 p.m. and then on Sunday with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. All three games take place at Bill Evans Field in College Park, Ga.
