A. Rashad White Named 10th Head Baseball Coach in Program History

White tabbed as newest head baseball coach

ATLANTA -- Clark Atlanta University Athletics Director, Dr. Jerel Drew is proud to announce the hiring of A. Rashad "Rod" White as the next head baseball coach of the Clark Atlanta Panthers.

A. Rod "Coach Rod" White brings more than two decades of experience in coaching, scouting, player development, athletic administration, education and baseball entrepreneurship to the Clark Atlanta University baseball program.

White has produced a .660 winning percentage as a head coach, building a reputation for elevating programs both competitively and organizationally. His coaching philosophy combines academic accountability, professional preparation, advanced performance technology and measurable player development.

White's professional résumé includes eight years of Major League Baseball associate scouting experience with the Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies. He also completed professional scout school with the Toronto Blue Jays.

In 2026, White served on the MLB HBCU Swingman Classic Selection Committee and as the event's crosschecker, helping identify, evaluate and verify the top HBCU baseball talent in the country. His responsibilities were further expanded when he was selected as the HBCU Swingman Classic's On-Field Operations General Manager.

Before arriving at Clark Atlanta, White served as the head baseball coach at Dillard University. He took over the program in March 2024 with a 6–21 record and immediately engineered one of the most dramatic turnarounds in HBCU baseball. Under White's leadership, the Bleu Devils finished the remainder of the season 14–6—a .700 winning percentage.

In 2025, Dillard finished 26–21, a .553 winning percentage, and recorded the first winning season in program history. Across White's tenure, the Bleu Devils went 40–27 under his direct leadership, producing a .597 winning percentage.

White's tenure also included several historic program accomplishments:

  • First winning season in Dillard baseball history
  • First victories over NCAA Division II opponents
  • No. 6 national ranking among HBCU baseball programs
  • No. 9 national ranking in batting average
  • No. 5 national ranking in on-base percentage
  • First HBCU Baseball Final Four invitation
  • Program advancement from No. 144 to No. 79 in the BoChip national rankings—an improvement of 65 positions, or approximately 45 percent
  • 3.2 team grade-point average
  • Approximately 1,100 hours of community service

White also served two years as chairman of the HBCU Athletic Conference Baseball Coaches Committee, providing leadership and representation for baseball programs throughout the conference.

His head-coaching success began at the high school level. In his first season leading a high school program, White guided his team to an 18–10 record, a .643 winning percentage, and the first playoff appearance in school history. He earned Class 5A–7A Coach of the Year honors during that inaugural season. In his second year, the program won an area championship and earned its first Sweet 16 appearance.

White's coaching résumé also includes stops at Alabama State University, Texas College, ASA College Miami and the Medicine Hat Mavericks. His professional baseball career began in independent baseball, where he served in coaching and front-office roles with the Americus Arrows and Montgomery Wings, including positions as assistant general manager and general manager.

A former collegiate player at Alabama State University, White also played professionally for the Americus Arrows and Montgomery Wings. He earned his bachelor's degree in physical education from Alabama State and spent 11 years as an educator. His professional credentials include Certified Biomechanics Specialist, Certified High School Strength and Conditioning Coach and Certified Sports-Specific Trainer.

White is the founder, CEO and national scouting director of the National Scouting Bureau. Since its establishment, the organization has assisted more than 600 student-athletes with college placement and has worked with more than 22 eventual MLB Draft selections. Through his work in scouting and athlete representation, White has built a national network connecting athletes with collegiate and professional opportunities.

He is also the founder and developer of BioHacker Sports, an advanced Athlete Performance Operating System designed to connect performance, workload, movement, recovery, health and long-term development within one comprehensive platform. BioHacker Sports incorporates specialized performance engines—including ArmIQ, SpeedIQ, MotionIQ and RecoveryIQ—to provide athletes and coaches with measurable, individualized development information.

White's integration of biomechanics, workload monitoring, recovery data and performance technology allows training decisions to be based on objective information rather than guesswork. His approach helps athletes understand where they are, where they need to improve, what they should train and whether their development plan is producing measurable results.

At Clark Atlanta, White's vision extends far beyond winning games. His program is built on academic achievement, accountability, professional preparation, advanced player development, community service and championship expectations. His goal is to establish Clark Atlanta Baseball as a championship-caliber NCAA Division II program and a nationally recognized destination for developing student-athletes academically, athletically and personally.

His standard for the Panthers is clear:

"On the field. In the classroom. In the community. Be who you say you are."
