Reagan Jackson had another big game, finishing with 20 points, in Clark Atlanta's 76-53 loss to Albany State on the road Monday.
The loss for CAU (6-17, 4-9 SIAC) is their second in a row after their big four-game winning streak was snapped last weekend. One of those wins was against Albany State (7-15, 6-6 SIAC) on Jan. 19. ASU's win enables them to maintain their second place standing in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference East Division race.
Monday, Albany State jumped out fast, grabbing a 15-2 lead midway through the first quarter after Tyra Thompson's 3-pointer.  Albany State's lead climbed to as many as 20 points before halftime. Clark Atlanta on offense, hitting only 3-of-32 of their shots with only five points in each of the first and second quarters.
While the Lady Panthers' shooting improved from 9 percent to nearly 37 percent in the second half, Albany State's hot shooting continued as they hit nearly 50 percent of their shots and poured it on the second to take control and get the win.
The 20 points by CAU's Jackson, a freshman from Chesapeake, Va., was her seventh-consecutive double-digit scoring effort, and ninth in the past ten games. Jackson is now ranked eighth among all SIAC scorers.
Reyana Miller had 13 points, eight rebounds, two steals, an assist and a block, while
Nailah-Mawusi Mitchell also had 13 points with five steals, three assists and two rebounds.Â
Jazmin Smith added eight boards, two points and a steal for the Lady Panthers.
Thompson led four Lady Golden Rams in double figures with 17 points.
Clark Atlanta is now off until Feb. 14 when they visit Miles College at 5:30 p.m.  The Lady Panthers return to L.S. Epps Gymnasium for Senior Day on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. and close out the regular season by hosting Paine College on Monday, Feb. 18 at 6 p.m.
