Reagan Jackson scored a career-high 32 points, including five points in the final minutes of the second overtime as Clark Atlanta defeated Lane College 81-75 Monday in L.S. Epps Gymnasium.
In their first Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game of the season, Clark Atlanta (2-4, 1-0 SIAC), started slowly with just two baskets in the first quarter as they trailed Lane (0-5, 0-2 SIAC) 12-7 after the first quarter.
Lane increased their lead in the second quarter to as many as 12 points before settling into halftime up 34-26.
Jackson, who didn't start for the first time this season, heated up in the third quarter with two 3-pointers and a jumper that pulled CAU to within one at 37-36 halfway through the period. They took the lead on two
Lakashia Hill free throws to go up 38-37.
While the Dragons regained the lead and led by as many as seven points in the third quarter, the Lady Panthers pulled back into it in the fourth, going up by two points – 52-50 – after a Jackson layup with 6:45 remaining.
The game stayed close, with

In that overtime,
Reyana Miller hit a 3-pointer with 3:23 left that put the Lady Panthers up 69-67. Lane countered with a 3-pointer from Briana Thompson to regain the lead at 70-69. Neither team could muster another basket in the first overtime, but Jackson was able to drive the lane with three seconds left and get fouled, sending her to the free throw line. She hit one of two to tie the game and send it to a second overtime at 70-70.
In the second overtime, Jackson hit another 3-pointer with 3:49 remaining that put CAU up 74-70.

Lane was able to cut the lead to four on Thompson's 3-pointer with 22 seconds left, making the score 79-75. But Jackson was able to seal the victory with two late free throws for CAU.
Jackson's 32 points – she hit 10-of-21 shots, including four threes – were the most she has had in a CAU uniform. Her previous high was 30 points against Paine College last season. Miller had 13 points, seven assists and four rebounds. Jones had a double-double – 11 points and ten rebounds for CAU. Morings finished with nine points and ten rebounds.
