Romaine Thomas and
Tyler Singleton both had 21 points as Clark Atlanta pulled away in the second half to defeat Spring Hill 86-68 Monday.
It's the fourth straight win for Clark Atlanta (2-9, 2-1 SIAC) in the series with Spring Hill (1-9, 0-3 SIAC). Spring Hill last defeated Clark Atlanta in January 2016.
Monday, the two teams had a back-and-forth first half with neither team leading by more than four points. CAU was down by three points with less than a minute left before halftime when Singleton had a layup and later a steal and another layup to give Clark Atlanta a 37-36 lead at halftime.
Spring Hill's Christian Brandt hit a 3-pointer early in the second half to spark a 14-9 Badger run over the first four minutes of the second half as they led 50-46.
That's when the Panthers caught fire.
CAU got 3-pointers from
Shannon Smith,
Elijah Stewart, and
Ian Roach over the next seven minutes as part of a 17-1 run that put Clark Atlanta comfortably ahead 63-51 with 9:21 remaining. CAU led by as many as 23 points as they took control for the win.
Thomas finished with 21 points, nine rebounds, three steals, three blocks and three assists for CAU, while Singleton had 21 points, two rebounds, a steal and an assist.
Colin Bell had eight points and eight rebounds, while
Traylen Warren and Stewart both added eight points. Smith and Roach had seven each.
Christian Brandt led Spring Hill with 20 points.
