Second-Half Surge Leads Clark Atlanta to 89-75 Win Over Spring Hill

Clark Atlanta erased a double-digit halftime deficit with a big second-half surge to defeat Spring Hill 89-75 on the road Monday.

It's Lady Panthers' (3-8, 2-1 SIAC) third straight victory over Spring Hill (2-8, 1-1 SIAC) as the CAU hasn't lost to the Badgers since 2017.

Monday, Spring Hill jumped out to an early eight-point lead on the Lady Panthers after Tiffany Valentine put the Badgers up 13-5 midway through the first quarter.  But Reyana Miller and Reagan Jackson combined for 11 points over the next five minutes to lead a CAU charge to a 20-18 lead to end the quarter.

Autum Morings' layup with 3:38 left before halftime had CAU in front 31-28.  But Spring Hill went on a 14-0 run to end the half and take a 42-31 lead at the half.

Clark Atlanta turned things around in the third quarter as Jackson hit four 3-pointers and Jalisa Jones added 11 points, with Jones' final basket of the quarter giving CAU as 61-57 heading into the fourth quarter.

Elise Reilly's 3-pointer early in the fourth quarter pulled Spring Hill to within one at 63-62.  But the Lady Panthers went on an 11-4 run midway through the quarter to take control of the game and grab their third win of the season.

Miller led the Lady Panthers with 24 points, six steals, four rebounds and three assists.  Jackson hit a total of five 3-pointers and finished with 21 points, as well as grabbing seven rebounds and making two assists.   Jones had 18 points, seven rebounds, two steals and five assists.  Morings had 12 points, six rebounds and two steals.  Lakashia Hill added eight points and five rebounds.
