The Clark Atlanta Lady Panthers cut a double-digit lead to less than ten late, but their comeback fell short as CAU fell to Tuskegee 75-64 Saturday.
The Lady Panthers (2-8, 1-1 SIAC) had been down by as many as 21 points early in the fourth quarter after Eleana Daniels of Tuskegee (5-4, 1-0 SIAC) hit a jumper that made it 66-45 with 8:07 remaining in the game.
The Lady Panthers gamely fought back, outscoring Tuskegee 17-4 over the next five minutes and pulling to within seven after two
Reagan Jackson free throws made it 70-63 with 3:33 remaining.
But that was as close as the Lady Panthers would get as they hit only managed to get a free throw over the game's final three minutes.
Jackson and
Reyana Miller led three Lady Panthers in double figures. Jackson had 15 points, six rebounds, two steals and two assists, while Miller had 15 points, three steals, three assists and a rebound.
Autum Morings added ten points, four rebounds and an assist.
Normesha Pitts led Tuskegee with 14 points and seven rebounds.
