Nailah-Mawusi Mitchell led all Lady Panthers with 15 points, but the Clark Atlanta loses a tight game with Lane, 58-50.
Clark Atlanta (2-13, 1-5 SIAC) fought Lane (5-11, 4-3 SIAC) hard, leading at halftime 27-26.Â
The Lady Panthers had trailed Lane by six in the second quarter when Lajoyous Boose hit a basket to tie the game at 18-18 eight minutes before halftime. The lead went back and forth before
Jamila Mitchell hit a 3-pointer that put CAU ahead at the break.
Things remained close throughout the third quarter, until CAU pushed the lead to five points three times throughout the latter stages of the period, the final time on
Nailah-Mawusi Mitchell's free throws just before the third quarter ended, giving CAU a 42-37 advantage.
Two more
Nailah-Mawusi Mitchell free throws early in the fourth quarter gave CAU their biggest lead at 44-37.  But Lane outscored Clark Atlanta 17-3 over the next seven minutes to take control of the game and get the win.
Nailah-Mawusi Mitchell finished with 15 points for her fifth-consecutive, double-digit scoring game. She also finished with a team-high eight rebounds.Â
Jalisa Jones had nine points and six rebounds, while I'Nayah Moore finished with eight points and seven boards.
Lane was led by Antrice McCoy's 29 points.
