The Clark Atlanta University Panthers will be back on the court this Saturday, Dec. 8 when they take on Lane College in the Arthur J. McAfee Memorial Classic at Morehouse College's Forbes Arena. Admission is free. 
 
The 4 p.m. game wasn't originally on the Panthers (1-6, 0-2 SIAC) schedule as they are a late replacement in the Classic.  The game can be seen live, via web stream, at http://www.themmtechno.com/mh.htm.
 
CAU faces a Lane squad that has won six in a row after starting the season off with two losses.  Their latest win came Wednesday when they defeated Christian Brothers University 54-51.  It was their second over Christian Brothers, the first one starting their six-game win streak on Nov. 20. 
 
Three Dragons are averaging in double figures in scoring, led by Terrace Holt and his 15.7 points per game.  Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Preseason Defensive Player of the Year Kendarius Ash averages 12.3 points per game.  
 
But the Panthers counter with two of the SIAC's top six scorers so far this season. 
 
Preseason All-SIAC senior guard Shelvick Henry is averaging 16.4 points per game, good for fourth best in the SIAC. Henry is second on the team in assists and is third in rebounds.  He has scored in double figures in every game, including putting up 21 against Montevallo and 22 at Xavier (N.O.) last month. 
 
Jalen Mitchell has averaged 15.6 points per game, good for sixth best in the conference.  Fellow senior Austin Donaldson has added ten points per game and leads the conference in steals and is in the top 10 in assists. Forward Romaine Thomas is scoring 12.4 points per game and has led the team with 50 rebounds – 7.1 per game – this season.  He ranks sixth in the conference in rebounding. 

After a road trip to Central State and Kentucky State next week, the Panthers return to L.S. Epps Gymnasium where they will host Spring Hill College on Dec. 31 at 3 p.m.
