Jalen Mitchell led three Panthers in double figures, but Clark Atlanta couldn't stave off Tuskegee and their hot shooting in the second half, falling 69-56 before nearly 800 people at L.S. Epps Gymnasium Monday.

Clark Atlanta (1-7, 0-1) kept within striking distance throughout the first half and then went up 28-27 just over two minutes before halftime on a Shelvick Henry layup.  Tuskegee (1-4, 1-0 SIAC) reclaimed the lead on free throws from Gregg Boyd and Cam Grepke to take a 31-28 lead at the break.

After the Golden Tigers pushed the lead out to seven points early in the half, Henry hit another layup with 13:32 left to cut the lead to four at 38-34. 

But Tuskegee went on an 11-0 run over the next two minutes to push the lead to 15 and holding the margin to double figures pretty much the rest of the way and getting their first win of the season.

Mitchell finished with 19 points, along with three rebounds, an assist and a steal. Austin Donaldson had 14 points, four rebounds, three steals and an assist, while Henry finished with 12 points, three rebounds, four steals and an assist.

Myles Thomas led Tuskegee scorers with 22 points.

The Panthers are off until Dec. 8 when they play Lane in the Arthur J. McAfee Memorial Classic at Morehouse College's Forbes Arena. CAU then hosts the University of Montevallo on Dec. 11 at L.S. Epps Gymnasium at 7 p.m.  CAU lost a close game at Montevallo 68-65 earlier this season.
