Shelvick Henry and Jalen Mitchell both scored 21 points to lead the Clark Atlanta University Panthers to an 80-76 overtime win over Lane College Saturday in the Arthur J. McAfee Memorial Classic at Morehouse College's Forbes Arena.

The win by CAU (2-6, 0-2 SIAC) ended a six-game, Lane (7-3, 4-0 SIAC) win streak that started on Nov. 20 (The game didn't count as a conference game for either team).

Clark Atlanta jumped out early, taking a 13-point lead on Mitchell's 3-pointer made it 19-6 nine minutes into the game.  Another Mitchell 3-pointer kept the lead in double figures at 35-24 with 2:48 left in the half, but Lane made a late run, scoring eight unanswered points to trail by just three at the half.

Mitchell had a big first half, scoring 14 points and going 4-of-4 on 3-point shots.
Lane tried to seize control in the second half, twice taking a lead of nine points, the second time on Kendarius Ash's dunk with 7:36 remaining to take a 61-52 lead.

Three minutes later, the Panthers whittled that lead down to two after a Henry 3-pointer made it 63-61.  Henry took over late, tying the game on a jumper to make it 68-68 with 1:15 left. 

Lane hit two free throws to go back up by two, but Henry hit another 3-pointer with 36 seconds left to put CAU up 71-70. Fourteen seconds later, Ash tied the game again with a free throw.  Henry's layup attempt with five seconds left was unsuccessful and the game went into overtime.

In the extra period, Lane had a led by two early, but Austin Donaldson's layup and free throw gave CAU the lead for good at 76-75 with 3:02 remaining.  The Panthers twice led by four afterwards, with Henry hitting another 3-pointer with 1:31 left to make it 79-75, and Donaldson adding a free throw with 26 seconds remaining to provide the final margin.

The Panthers out-rebounded Lane 45-40 and hit 15 3-pointers.

Henry had fourteen, second-quarter points and four 3-pointers.  He finished with 21 points, four rebounds and three assists.  Mitchell had 21 points, two rebounds and an assist. Romaine Thomas had a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds, along with four assists, while Ian Roach had 14 points, a rebound and three assists.  Donaldson finished with six points, seven rebounds and five assists.

Terrance Holt led Lane with 25 points while Ash had 15 points and 14 rebounds.

Next up for CAU is a rematch with the University of Montevallo on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. in L.S. Epps Gymnasium.   Montevallo got a late 68-65 win over CAU on Nov. 13 in Alabama.
