ALBANY, Ga. - Clark Atlanta men's basketball saw a narrow lead go away inside the final minute on the road at Albany State in a 77-75 road loss in non-SIAC action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Half | Clark Atlanta fell behind 6-2 before
Anthony Williams opened up a 20-2 run with 17:46 to play in the first half. The run concluded with 12:39 left as
Tajai Johnson connected on a 3-pointer off the assist from
Tim Sanders. During the run Johnson was good on a trio of 3-pointers and a layup scoring 11 of the 20 Panther points. A 17-8 midway through the half brought the Golden Rams to within five points, 30-25, with 6:05 to play. The half concluded with the final nine combined points coming from the FT line (four for CAU and five for ASU). Clark Atlanta went into the intermission holding the 44-37 advantage.

Second Half | A 9-1 run by Albany State to start the second half put the hoe team ahead with Clark Atlanta retaking the advantage, 52-48, with 15:44 remaining as Sanders connected on a layup and 3-pointer. Albany State took the lead after a 6-0 run, 56-54, and after CAU came back to tie the game at 59-59 on a trio of made FT from
Derek Harper the Golden Rams went on a 8-0 run to take the lead, 67-59. Clark Atlanta fought back to retake the lead, 75-73, after Harper connected on a 3-pointer and CAU made nine FT attempts before Albany State scored four points in the final minute to win the game, 77-75.
TEAM NUMBERS:
Clark Atlanta shot 23-for-59 (39 percent) from the floor and 21-for-30 (70 percent) from the FT line. CAU was successful on 8-of-17 shots from 3-point range.

The Panthers led the game for 24:15 (606 percent) and led by as many as 14 points in the first half.

Clark Atlanta held the advantage in steals, 9-7, while trailing in points off turnovers, 13-8, and second chance scoring, 17-5.
INDIVIDUAL NUMBERS:
Four Panthers scored in double digits as Johnson scored 19 to lead the team in scoring for the second time this season. Also registering double-digit points were Harper (14), Sanders (12) and
Damien Davis (12).

Lawrance Triplett hauled in a game-high 13 rebounds while Sanders had a game-high five assists and Harper had a game-high three steals.
UP NEXT:
Clark Atlanta will return to the court of L.S. Epps Gymnasium on Jan. 16 at 8:00 p.m. as Albany State will visit. The upcoming game will be the one SIAC game this season for the two teams. ASU previously played from Epps Gym as part of the L.S. Epps Memorial Challenge versus a pair of teams from the CIAA in December.
