COLUMBIA, S.C. - Clark Atlanta men's basketball balanced the attack from Benedict as the game was tied at halftime and after regulation. It was in overtime where Benedict made a pair of FT attempts with three seconds remaining to take the lead before the buzzer beater from
Anthony Williams was no good.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Half | Damien Davis opened the game with a layup after 33 seconds.
Anthony Williams later added a 3-pointer as CAU opened the game on a 5-0 run. Clark Atlanta opened up a 14-point lead following a 14-2 run ending with a
Tajai Johnson 3-pointer; 22-8.
Tim Sanders would give the Panthers the 15-point lead on a 3-pointer with 8:09 remaining. Benedict ended the half tying the score, 34-34, following a 23-8 run.

Second Half | Lawrance Triplett and Davis opened up a second-half lead with a 3-pointer and a layup. Clark Atlanta later went on a 10-1 run with four points from
Derek Harper and jumpers from Sanders on back-to-back possessions as CAU led 51-41 with 14:37 to play. Benedict pulled within one point with 8:24 left; 57-56. CAU would embark on a 11-2 run ending with a Sanders layup with 6:15 remaining to play. Benedict would later lead 71-68 before Harper tied the game with 60 seconds remaining to tie the game as regulation time ended; 71-71.

Overtime | Benedict led in OT by three points before
Chuka Eneh and Sanders gave CAU the one-point lead; 78-77. With three seconds to play, CAU would foul the Benedict player who would go 2-for-2 from the FT line giving BC the 79-78 advantage.
Anthony Williams got off a buzzer-beating jumper that was no good to end the game.

Clark Atlanta is now 2-2 in overtime games on the season.

CAU shot 31-for-63 (49.2 percent) from the floor and 5-for-10 from the FT line. Benedict was 18-for-25 from the FT line as CAU was called for 18 fouls in the game. The 31 made baskets was the second-highest output in a game this season.

The Panthers led in bench scoring 18-6, but trailed in second chance scoring, 18-7, points in the paint, 32-28, and points off turnovers, 23-16. CAU forced BC into 15 turnovers while committing 11.
INDIVIDUAL NUMBERS:
A trio of Panthers scored in double digits as Sanders (22) led the team along with Davis (18) and Harper (16).

Triplett had a team-high seven rebounds while Williams led the team with four assists and two steals.
