ATLANTA, Ga. - Clark Atlanta men's basketball ended the game on an 11-3 run in the final 136 seconds for the home victory over Fort Valley State; 77-69. The second half saw each team making runs to take the lead just to see the opposition rally back.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Half | Anthony Williams scored the first Panther points on a 3-pointer with 17:46 to play to move CAU ahead; 3-2. Fort Valley took the lead thanks to a 5-0 run. Another 3 from Williams tied the game, 12-12, before a FT from
Michael Brittain gave the Panthers the brief lead, 13-12, with 12:33 to play.
Chuka Eneh started a Panther 7-0 run with a 3-pointer tying the game, 16-16, before baskets from
Derek Harper and
Damien Davis moved the CAU lead to four points. Eneh later added another 3 ahead of a fast-break layup from
Tajai Johnson giving the Panthers the 25-18 advantage with 5:52 remaining. FVSU missed a short jumper and Harper took the ball up court for the easy jumper capping a second 7-0 run in the first half.
Tim Sanders scored on back-to-back possessions with a layup and a 3-pointer from the corner, moving the lead to 32-20 with 4:43 to play. FVSU embarked on a 11-0 run cutting the deficit to one point before Davis grabbed the offensive rebound and quickly connected as the buzzer ended the half with CAU leading, 36-33.
Second Half | Johnson opened the second half with a 3-pointer after just 15 seconds of action. FVSU used a 6-0 run tying the game with 16:19 left; 41-41. After Sanders had his shot blocked, Johnson grabbed the offensive rebound and beat the clock with a layup and was good with FT after being fouled to complete the three-point play; CAU led 44-41. Johnson added another 3-pointer after FVSU tied the game and
Lawrance Triplett was good from 3 on the next trip down the court for the CAU advantage; 50-46. FVSU took the lead, 57-52, utilizing an 8-0 run over 45 seconds. A 3 from Triplett and another from Johnson capped a CAU 9-5 run to tie the game at 62-62 with 6:31 to play. Clark Atlanta went on a 14-4 run Johnson good on two from 3-point range and a reverse layup along with a Harper fast break layup off the Sanders steal and pass; CAU led 73-66 with 97 seconds left. The final minute saw baskets from Davis and Johnson.
TEAM NUMBERS:
Clark Atlanta shot 46.2 percent from the floor (30-for-65) including knocking down eleven 3-pointers. The Panthers went 6-for-11 from the FT line.
CAU held the advantage in points in the paint, 24-6, fast break scoring, 20-2, and points off turnovers, 20-2. The Panthers forced 16 Wildcat turnovers.
Clark Atlanta led by as many as 12 points and led the game for 19:12 (48 percent).
The Panthers tallied 16 assists on 30 made baskets.
INDIVIDUAL NUMBERS:
Johnson set a new career-high with 25 points to lead all scorers. Johnson was 9-for-16 from the floor, including 4-for-6 from 3, and went 3-for-4 from the FT line. Davis (12), Triplett (10) and Harper (10) also scored in double figures.
Triplett had a game-high nine rebounds while Sanders had a game-high five assists.
