ATLANTA, Ga. - Clark Atlanta women's basketball played host to Albany State in the second game of the home-and-home series, with the Panthers defeating the Lady Rams 73-62. The game today was the one game in the series that counts towards the SIAC season standings.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Quarter | Naquaisha Rattray was good on a layup with 7:47 remaining in the quarter to end a 6-0 Lady Rams run to start the game.
Sydni Davis later beat the shot clock with a jumper in the paint to cut the ASU lead to 9-6 with just over four minutes left on the clock.
Kiyanna Johnson was good on a 3-pointer at the end of the quarter as the score favored the visiting team; 18-13. Clark Atlanta closed out the opening ten minutes on a 7-2 run after trailing by as many as ten points.

Second Quarter | Davis opened the second quarter with a jumper and later scored eight-consecutive points for the Panthers as CAU cut the deficit to 26-25 with 3:32 left in the first half. After ASU added four points,
Reyana Miller was good on a floater in the lane with 2:12 left in the half; 30-27. The Lady Rams ended the half scoring nine of the last 11 points over the final 3:18 with the lone basket for CAU coming on a Miller jumper. CAU trailed 35-27 at the intermission.

Third Quarter | Clark Atlanta forced a turnover on the opening ASU possession of the second half that
Marissa Mandeldove converted into a fast break layup after just 15 seconds had been played. Miller and
Lauren Turner combined for a 5-2 run that brought the Panthers within five points, 39-34, with 6:46 on the clock.
Nicole Graham scored her first points of the game on a 3-pointer ahead of a Miller layup on the fast break brought CAU within one point; 40-39. Mandeldove later gave CAU the first lead of the game as she completed the three-point play, 44-43, with 1:40 left in the quarter. Davis was good on a late jumper giving the lead back to CAU to end the quarter; 46-45. Clark Atlanta outscored Albany State 19-10 in the quarter.

Fourth Quarter | Turner scored the opening points of the fourth quarter on a jumper in the lane after grabbing the offensive rebound on her own miss. Miller added a deep 3-pointer on the next CAU possession giving the Panthers the 51-46 lead. Davis scored the next trip down the court for CAU on a jumper from the top of the key. Miller was good on another 3 as the shot clock was expiring to give the Panthers the 56-48 advantage with 7:17 left in the game. Rattray added a turn-around jumper in the paint to give Clark Atlanta the double-digit lead with five minutes remaining in the game; 61-50. CAU added to the advantage as Turner and Davis each made a pair of FT's to end a 9-1 Panthers run to lead 65-51. Miller scored on a layup as the buzzer ended the game. CAU outscored Alban State 27-17 in the final quarter.
TEAM NUMBERS:
Clark Atlanta shot 26-for-69 (37.7 percent) from the floor and 17-for-24 (70.8 percent) from the FT line. CAU was just 4-for-17 (23.5 percent) from 3-point range.

Clark Atlanta led the game for just 10:11 after trailing from the opening basket of the game as Albany State last had the lead, 45-44, with four seconds remaining in the third quarter.

The Panthers registered season-highs in steals (21) and turnovers forced (30).

Clark Atlanta held the advantage in points off turnovers, 23-15, bench scoring, 33-23, fast break scoring, 14-6,
INDIVIDUAL NUMBERS:
Turner recorded her third double-double of the season with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Davis had a game-high 20 points off the bench while Miller chipped in with 19 points.Â

Mandeldove, the leader in steals per game in the SIAC, tallied eight steals, nine rebounds and six assists while scoring a season-low six points.
