Tennis Splits Weekend with Fort Valley and Clayton State

ATLANTA, Ga. - Clark Atlanta tennis split the weekend, defeating conference-rival Fort Valley State before losing to Clayton State.

Saturday saw the Panthers the initial win of 2016 with a 6-2 victory over Fort Valley State. The doubles pairings of Tori Pradier/Avern Gumbs and DiAndrea Galloway/Vonnick Boyogueno each claimed 8-4 wins. Once singles competition began Clark Atlanta added wins by Pradier (6-0, 6-1), Boyogueno (6-4, 4-3), Galloway (6-1 (10-4)), and Khadija Elder (4-6, 6-2, 7-5). The only losses were in the default losses at Doubles No. 3 and Singles No. 6.

Clark Atlanta lost the home Sunday match versus Clayton State, 9-0. The No. 2 Doubles team of Boyogueno/Galloway lost the match in a tie-breaker (9-8 (8-6)).
