ATLANTA, Ga. - Clark Atlanta men's basketball led until 3:51 remained in the game versus Georgia College but a turnover in the final 17 seconds in a one-point game turned into a loss to visiting Georgia College, 68-66.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Half | Shamiek Sheppard opened the scoring by making 1-of-2 from the FT line after 1:19 had run off the clock. After Georgia College took the lead on a dunk, CAU utilized a 5-0 run to regain the advantage with three points from
Damien Davis.
The opening half saw Georgia College utilize a 7-0 run along with a quartet of 4-0 runs to remain tied with Clark Atlanta at the intermission, 32-32. The Panthers opened the game shooting 11-for-29 from the floor and 7-for-13 from the FT line.
Tim Sanders was 2-for-6 from 3-point range in the opening half.
Second Half | The Panthers got a jumper from Davis to start the second half scoring to finalize a 6-0 run and later turned a two-point deficit into a six-point advantage with an 8-0 run over 1:13 to lead 47-41. Clark Atlanta would build as much as an nine point advantage before Georgia College would regain the lead, 60-59, with 3:51 to play. Back-and-forth action would ensue before a turnover by Clark Atlanta with 17 seconds to play trailing 64-63 sent the Bobcats to the FT line to seal the road victory. Sanders would launch a 3-pointer as the buzzer sounded to cap off the scoring, 68-66.
TEAM NUMBERS:
Clark Atlanta held advantages in points off turnovers, 19-14, second chance scoring, 13-6, and fast break scoring, 6-2.

The Panthers shot 22-for-53 (41.5 percent) from the florr, including 8-for-25 from 3-point range. CAU would go 14-for-23 from the FT line compared to 23-for-30 for Georgia College.
INDIVIDUAL NUMBERS:
Sanders scored a game-high 19 points with five made 3-pointers. Sheppard and
Derek Harper each scored 12 points.
A trio of Panthers hauled in six rebounds in Sheppard,
Anthony Williams and
Lawrance Triplett while Williams posted a game-high eight assists.
UP NEXT:
Clark Atlanta will hit the road for the next two games before returning home on Dec. 14 in the first SIAC game of the season as Tuskegee visits at 8:00 PM following the women's game at 6:00 p.m.
