ALBANY, Ga. - Clark Atlanta and Albany State played for the 45th time in series history with Panthers win streak ending at four straight with the 17-7 loss at Albany State. The Golden Rams lead the series versus the Panthers, 39-6, with the most recent CAU victory coming in 2001.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Albany State opened the scoring on the second drive of the game with a 35 yard FG with 4:43 remaining in the first quarter after CAU punted on each of the first two drives.
With Clark Atlanta trailing and punting on each possession early in the game,
Ty Woods unleashed a 56-yard punt at the beginning of the second quarter for his longest punt of the season to date.
After making a change at quarterback,
Dashawn Blow came in an engineered a 77 yard drive over eight plays that ended with Blow rushing in from the 10 yard line.
Carlos Saldana added the PAT to give the Panthers the 7-3 lead with 1:30 remaining in the opening half.
Albany State took the opening kick of the second half and drove 91 yards for the touchdown to take the 10-7 lead with 11:56 left in the third quarter.
Clark Atlanta brought
Johnathon McCrary back in at quarterback and after completing a pair of passes to Travier Bryant on the drive McCrary was intercepted at the Albany 37 yard line midway through the third quarter. The Panther defense held tight and forced Albany State to punt.
William Kimmey forced Albany State to punt later n the quarter after recording his second sack of the season, this time for a loss of 19 yards. After being forced to punt, Woods was able to pin the Golden Rams back and forced them to start at the ASU06.
Albany State added a late touchdown in the fourth quarter by covering 54 yards in six plays to extend the lead to 17-7 with 4:34 left in the game.
Facing third and long, Blow connected with
Johnathan Sanders on back-to-back plays to convert on fourth down. The drive ended with a failed 42-yrd FG attempt with the Panthers trailing 17-7 with 45 seconds remaining in the game.
OFFENSIVE NUMBERS
McCrary ended the day 17-for-28 passing for 115 yards and the one interception while Blow went 11-for-18 for 120 yards.
Dre Martin and Sanders ended the day with matching numbers of 4 receptions for 46 yards.
Trenton Earl hauled in three passes for 37 yards.
Jaha McCray had 30 yards receiving on seven receptions while also rushing the ball eight times for 14 yards.
DEFENSIVE NUMBERS
Jacob Mitchell led the defense with eight tackles with
Jaquatin Victrum and
Aquimial Burton each tallying seven stops.
TEAM NUMBERS
CAU led in passing yards, 235-232 yards, and time of possession, 32:58-27:02.
The Panthers ran 71 plays for 263 yards of total offense.
Clark Atlanta was penalized eight times for 116 yards.
