ATLANTA, Ga. - Clark Atlanta wrapped up the home portion of the schedule, along with the final game of SIAC play for 2016, with a 34-17 loss to Miles. CAU has now lost the last three games in the series to Miles.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Following punts from each team on the opening drives of the game, CAU forced Miles to punt a second time. The return was fumbled by the Panthers and recovered by the Golden Bears in the end zone for the early 6-0 lead. The PAT moved Miles ahead 7-0 with 5:33 remaining in the opening quarter.
Following a turnover on downs, CAU drove 36 yards over eight plays before
Carlos Saldana connected on a 40 yards field goal with 14:43 remaining in the opening half.
Miles took advantage of CAU turnovers by scoring three second quarter touchdowns after intercepting CAU passes, one of which was returned 55 yards for the touchdown.
Clark Atlanta did find the end zone in the second quarter as
Dashawn Blow capped a 75 yard drive over 10 plays with a 1-yard scoring run. Saldana added the PAT and the Panthers trailed 27-10 at the intermission.
The third quarter was scoreless for both teams. Miles reached the scoreboard early in the fourth quarter returning a CAU punt for the touchdown extending the lead to 27-16.
Clark Atlanta found the end zone late in the fourth quarter as
Johnathon McCrary found
Deandre Jackson for the 3-yard scoring pass ending a four play drive after Jackson returned the punt from Miles to the four yard line.
OFFENSIVE NUMBERS
McCrary went 18-for-41 passing for 162 yards and the one touchdown to go with three interceptions. Blow also saw time behind center and threw for 38 yards on 2-of-6 passing with two interceptions. This is the third game of the season where Panther quarterbacks threw four or more interceptions.
Jaha McCray led the rushing game with 79 yards on 22 carries. McCray was highly involved in the passing game with five receptions for 24 yards.
McCrary rushed for 13 yards.
Trenton Earl hauled in one reception for 45 yards.
Dre Martin had four receptions and
Johnathan Sanders had 44 yards receiving on two receptions.
DEFENSIVE NUMBERS
Jacob Mitchell closed out his senior day by registering a game-high 12 tackles.
Both
Kenneth Morgan and
Joshua Powell picked up interceptions..
TEAM NUMBERS
CAU outgained Miles in total yards, 290-219, while the Panthers held the advantage in first downs, 17-9, passing yards, 200-168, rushing yards, 90-51, and time of possession, 34:40-25:20.
Miles was held to 1-of-10 on Third Down while Clark Atlanta was able to convert 5-of-18. The Panthers also went 2-for-5 on Fourth Down.
