ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) staged the championship cross country meet from the campus of Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C. and saw the Panthers of Clark Atlanta finish fifth for the men and fourth for the women.
The highest individual finisher for Clark Atlanta was
Tamera Julkes as she finished the meet fourth overall (21:32.64).
HOW IT HAPPENED (MEN):
Aaron Crawford was the highest finisher for the men, taking home 21st place with a time of 31:03.45.
D'Andre Graham was 33 seconds behind and finished 28th overall (31:36.84).
Tykeenan Jones (31:57.90),
Kilan Pace (32:30.85), and
Jamaal Wade (34:25.98) gave CAU the 28th, 32nd, and 42nd overall finishers.
Four of the five scoring finishers for CAU were freshman, as Pace is a junior. Also running but not being scored was
Justin Williams - another freshman - who finished the race with a time of 39:50.23 to cross the line 60th overall.
The men finished with a total time for the top-five finishing runners of 2:41:35.02 for an average of 32:19.01.
Morehouse claimed the meet championship with an average time of 27:45.69.
HOW IT HAPPENED (WOMEN):
Julkes led the Panthers with her fourth place effort.
Curshonne Johnson finished in 13th place with a time of 22:27.87 while fellow junior
D'Yanna McCaskill finished in 20th place overall (23:01.53) to give CAU three of the top-20 times.
KaTara Burks (23:54.10) was 27th and
Lanique Ellis (25:20.18) was 39th.
Cynthia Smith was not scored with her 41st place finish of 25:55.89.
The total time for the women's team was 1:56:16.32 for the fourth place effort averaging 23:15.27.
Albany State took the SIAC title with four finishers within the top nine times recorded.

CAU will wait to see if any of the runners have claimed a time that meets the NCAA timing standard to compete from the NCAA South Region in two weeks from Saint Leo, Fla.
