FRANKFORT, Ky. - Despite two players scoring higher that season averages, Clark Atlanta women's basketball was defeated by Kentucky State; 77-73. The loss ends a four-game winning streak, with the most recent trio of wins coming within conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:After opening the game with 2:22 of scoreless action,
Naquaisha Rattray converted the layup attempt for the opening basket of the game.
Mykala Jones scored on a 3-pointer with 4:37 left in the opening quarter to give Clark Atlanta a 7-6 lead.
CAU closed the quarter with a 8-3 run with Jones scoring on a layup with ten seconds remaining for the final points of the first quarter. The Panthers led 15-9.
Jones got the scoring started in the second quarter with a layup on the
Siera Bubb assist, 17-9, with 9:16 left before halftime.
Jones and Bubb scored on back-to-back opportunities to give CAU the 21-12 lead with 6:52 remaining.
A 9-3 KSU brought the score within three points, 26-23, with 3:11 left until halftime.
KSU pulled within one point, 30-29, with 55 seconds on the clock.
Sydni Davis stretched the lead to two by making a FT attempt. KSU scored the final points of the opening half on a 3-pointer to take the lead, 32-31.
Bubb scored the first Panther points in the third quarter with a jumper off the Rattray assist to pull within one point, 34-33. On the next trip down the court a Bubb jumper gave CAU the 35-34 advantage.
Nekia Sockwell tied the game, 41-41, with 5:56 left in the third quarter after converting both FT attempts.
Davis scored four-straight points for Clark Atlanta to remain one point behind, 46-45.
A 10-7 run for KSU ended the third quarter with CAU trailing 56-52.
Each team made a pair of FT attempts to start to fourth quarter.
A Davis jumper and two FT attempts by Rattray had CAU within two points, 60-58.
Whitney Collins scores on a layup with a Jones assist to once again move to within one point, 67-66, with 2:26 to play.
KSU locked away the game with another 10-7 run to cap the game, 77-73.
THE NUMBERS:Clark Atlanta was held to just 36.2 percent (25-for-69) from the floor and was just 2-for-9 from 3-point range. Kentucky State shot 43.8 percent while going 7-for-17 from 3-point range.
Clark Atlanta was 21-for-25 from the FT line, compared to 14-for-23 for KSU.
The Panthers led for just 14:33, despite the nine-point advantage being the largest of the game for either team.
CAU capitalized on KSU turnovers, converting 17 takeaways into 20 points. Clark Atlanta trailed in bench scoring, 19-14, and second chance points, 11-8, but held a 7-2 advantage in steals.
Jones (23) and Davis (19) each scored above season averages. Davis scored a season-high by shooting 5-for-17 along with going 9-for-10 from the FT line.
Gia Banks (seven) and Jones (six) had the highest rebound totals for Clark Atlanta. Sockwell and Jones (four) led the team in assists.
