ALBANY, Ga. - Siera Bubb registered her sixth double-double of the season but was not enough for Clark Atlanta women's basketball at Albany State, 72-63.

HOW IT HAPPENED:Naquaisha Rattray tied the score, 2-2, on a made jumper with 9:02 to play in the first quarter.
A 5-0 run with all points scored by
Mykala Jones later in the quarter gave the panthers a 11-6 lead with 4:27 remaining.
ASU fought back to tie the game, 11-11. Jones broke the tie with a fast break layup and
Siera Bubb scored on a layup with Brandi Robertson picking up the assist. CAU ended the opening ten minutes with the 15-11 advantage.
Nekia Sockwell opened the second quarter scoring with a jumper after 56 seconds ran off the clock.
Albany State took a brief lead, 18-17, and the Clark Atlanta lead remained one point, 23-22, with 1:39 left in the first half.
The Panthers would score seven-straight points to end the half, all at the FT line. Six of the made FT were by Jones, with
Gia Banks adding the other point.
The first half closed with Clark Atlanta leading 30-22. The eight-point lead was to largest of the game for the Panthers.
ASU opened the second half with a 15-6 run to take back the lead, 37-36, with 4:38 on the clock in the third quarter.
Jones connected on a pair from the line to tie, and then retake the lead by one point, 38-37.
Another 15-6 run by Albany State closed the third quarter and giving the home team the 52-44 advantage heading to the fourth quarter.
ASU led for the remainder of the game as the fourth quarter saw each team score 19 points.
THE NUMBERS:Clark Atlanta shot just 36.1 percent (22-for-61) from the floor with just two made 3-pointers. Albany State shot 39.1 percent (25-for-64), including four 3-pointers.
CAU was 17-for-23 from the FT line.
The Panthers converted 17 turnovers into 15 points. Albany State held the advantage for the game in second chance points, 14-11, bench points, 14-4, and points in the paint, 34-18.
Jones continued her high-scoring ways with a game-high 27 points. Jones has led the Panthers in scoring in all but one game. The senior from Augusta was just 8-for-21 from the floor and 2-for-8 from 3-point range.
Bubb contributed with 16 points on 7-for-10 shooting and 12 rebounds for the game-high. Bubb recorded her sixth double-double of the season, and now has double-digit rebounds in six of the last seven contests. Bubb also tied for the game-high with three steals.
Sockwell scored 10 points on 5-for-8 shooting adding two steals and an assist.
Banks and
Whitney Collins each scored one point off the bench. Robertson had four assists for the team-high from the Panther bench.
