FORT VALLEY, Ga. - Clark Atlanta men's basketball got over back-to-back losses with a road victory at Fort Valley State, 83-73. Six Panthers registered double-digit point totals with
Tim Sanders scoring a game-high 15 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED:After giving up the opening points to the home team, Clark Atlanta took the lead on a
Derek Harper 3-pointer on a
Tim Sanders assist after just 38 seconds; 3-2.

CAU extended the lead, 6-2, with
James Arnold knocking down a 3-pointer with
Chuka Eneh picking up the assist with 18:24 left in the first half.

Fort Valley utilized a 7-0 run to retake the lead before Clark Atlanta responded with a 9-0 run that would see the Panthers lead, 15-9.
Damien Enoch started the run with a layup before another Arnold 3 and back-to-back layups by Sanders and Harper.

During the first half, FVSU was able to tie the game at 20-20 before Sanders knocked down a 3 to reestablish the Panther advantage with 10:34 left in the first half.

Clark Atlanta led at the intermission, 41-39, with
Lawrance Freeman breaking a late tie jumper for his ninth point of the opening half.

The Wildcats opened the second half with a 9-2 run to take the lead, 48-43.

Trailing by five points, Clark Atlanta took the lead for good by capitalizing on a 10-0 run. During the run the Panthers received points from Sanders (two), Arnold (two),
Darreontae Moore (four), and Enoch (three). The lead was acquired when Moore knocked down a 3-pointer off the Harper assist.

A 6-2 stretch ending with 7:26 to play saw CAU obtain an 11-point lead, 70-59, after Sanders was good on both FT attempts.

FVSU cut the margin to four points after running off a 10-3 run to trail 73-69. CAU ended the game on a 10-4 run with eight points recoded at the FT line.
THE NUMBERS:Clark Atlanta shot 28-for-61 (45.9 percent) from the floor and made 7-of-14 3-pointers. Fort Valley State shot 24-for-61 (39.3 percent) while making just 8-of-27 3-pointers.

The Panthers turned 20 Wildcat turnovers into 24 points, while 13 CAU turnovers were only converted into five points for FVSU.

Clark Atlanta led for 32:51 (82.1 percent) of the game.

The Panthers held advantages in fast break points, 12-5, steals, 10-4, points off turnovers, 24-5, points in the paint, 28-21, and second chance points, 19-18.

Reaching double-digit points for the Panthers were Sanders (15), Arnold (13), Enoch (12), Moore (11), Freeman (11), and Harper (10).

Enoch and
Tajai Johnson each pulled in a team-high six rebounds while Sanders and Harper each registered team-highs with four assists. Sanders also had four steals in the game.
