ATLANTA, Ga. - Clark Atlanta took advantage of the inside game to pick up the win in the first home game of 2016 with a 67-46 victory over Lane. The game was the first matchup between the SIAC opponents and was highlighted by
Siera Bubb recording game-highs with 21 points and 20 rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED:Clark Atlanta fell behind in the opening minute 1-0 before a 13-0 run gave the Panthers the lead for the remainder of the game.
During the run,
Mykala Jones scored seven points.
The largest opening quarter lead was 18 points, 24-6, after
Sydni Davis connected on a 3-pointer with 1:34 left to play. CAU led 25-14 after the opening 10 minutes.
The second quarter began with CAU scoring the first nine points. Jones opened the quarter with a 3-pointer before a layup by
Naquaisha Rattray. Brandi Robertson added a FT and a
Kiyanna Johnson 3-pointer capped the run.
Jones stretched the lead to 21 points, 37-16, with 3:17 left to play after making a layup while being fouled and adding the FT.
In the first half, Clark Atlanta was 14-for-28 (50 percent) from the floor including 4-for-8 on 3-point attempts.
After
Siera Bubb sunk four-consecutive FT attempts, Lane responded with a fast break layup to cut the lead to 22 points, 48-26, with 3:17 left in the third quarter.
Clark Atlanta responded by closing the quarter with a 9-3 run for the largest Panther lead of the game, 57-29.
The fourth quarter saw the lead shrink to 17 points and end with CAU up by 21, 67-46.
THE NUMBERS:Clark Atlanta shot 21-for-51 (41.2 percent) for the game while going 4-for-11 on 3-pointers. CAU was just 7-for-23 from the floor in the second half.
The Panthers were 21-for-28 for the game from the FT line.
18 Lane turnovers were converted into 16 points.
Lane outscored CAU in points from the bench, 30-5. Johnson connected on the one 3-pointer, Robertson and
Gia Banks each made one FT for the bench scoring.
The rebounding advantage favored Clark Atlanta, 49-35. Rattray hauled in 10 rebounds to join Bubb with double-digit rebounds.
Bubb registered her fourth double-double of the season. Her game is the only 20-20 game within the SIAC to date. Bubb was 11-for-12 from the FT line and 5-for-8 from the floor. This was the first game where someone besides Jones was the high scorer for Clark Atlanta.
Jones scored 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting. She added three assists.
Davis scored 15 points and five rebounds. Davis went 6-for-13 from the floor and 2-for-2 from the FT line.
Robertson dished out five assists off the bench for a team-high.
